Education and test scores

Academic credentials make some of the quiz’s biggest swings.

SAT and GPA add evidence about school performance, while formal education reflects accumulated training and credentials. Speaking more than one language adds a useful skill that can expand communication and work opportunities.

Educational attainment is strongly associated with higher median earnings and lower unemployment, so these answers produce large movements in the appraisal.

Score: SAT pivots at 850, adding $232 per point above or subtracting $142 per point below. Each GPA point adds $190,000 on the male track or $150,000 on the female track. A doctorate adds $150,000 and another language adds $20,000.
